It is best known for its more than 5,000 recorded species of birds, including migrant flamingos and numerous water birds drawn to the park’s alkaline lake, which covers a large portion of its area. Flamingos typically feed along the lakeshore, though during the dry season, flamingos and other water birds can be found in small numbers.
